Ceramic coating faq
What is a ceramic coating?
A ceramic coating is a liquid-based coating that gets applied to a vehicle after it is washed, polished, and clayed. It acts as a shield against dirt and dust while also allowing water to bead up and roll off the paint.
How does it differ from a normal wax?
A normal wax last about 6 months to 1 year, while a ceramic coating can last up to 5. Normal wax coatings can be easily stripped, whereas ceramic coatings are more resistant to stripping and losing effectiveness.
Why does my paint have to be in good condition?
Ceramic coatings are a sealant, and it is important that the surface be as perfect as possible to ensure no imperfections are sealed beneath. In addition, the paint correction and polishing stage ensures the previous coating, whether it be wax from the soap in a carwash or an old ceramic, is stripped and the new ceramic can adhere to the surface.
What will a paint correction do?
Paint corrections will improve the surface of the vehicle by up to 90% depending on the condition of the vehicle. This includes light, scratches, light oxidation, and most swirl marks.
